Learn Spanish & Volunteer
December 17, 2013Enjoy the ¡Buena Onda! of Monterrico – a hammock-swinging coastal village with Guatemala’s best ocean beach!
Monterrico sits at the heart of the Biotopo Monterrico–Hawaii, a nature reserve that embraces a 20km-long beach-blessed slice of the Pacific coast and includes a vital turtle-nesting ground, abundant wetlands and the small villages of Monterrico and Hawaii. This program can be taken for 2 or 4 weeks duration and combines learning Spanish with meaningful volunteering alternating between both locations.
In addition to intensive Spanish language tuition delivered by accredited Spanish teachers you will be making a meaningful contribution to sea turtle conservation efforts at our hatchery (in season), rehabilitation efforts for other indigenous species and community projects centred around local schools – helping to turn today’s kids into model citizens of the future!
